Bozankaya is an innovative company that offers the most ideal solutions for urban public transportation in terms of investment and operating costs. It develops and manufactures vehicles that are environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and operate quietly.
Founded in 1989 in Germany as an R&D company, Bozankaya entered the Turkish market in 2003 and, building upon the expertise gained over the years, has become a much stronger brand in Turkey today. Starting with 20 employees in Turkey, Bozankaya now has nearly 1000 employees in total, including close to 100 R&D engineers at its R&D Center.
The company manufactures its vehicles, for which it holds intellectual property rights, at its facilities in Ankara. Its new production center, located in the Sincan 1st Organized Industrial Zone and covering an area of 110,000 m2, is designed and operational for the production of rail system vehicles such as metro and tram, as well as electric commercial vehicles such as trambus and Sileo. The domestically designed vehicles produced in these facilities are currently serving passengers seamlessly in Turkey and Europe. With investments made in 2017, the number of lines was increased to 11, and the facility was made ready for metro and high-speed train production with state-of-the-art welding robots.
Bozankaya holds the title of being the first company to produce Turkey's first 100% electric bus.
The production center in Kahramankazan, covering an area of 14,000 m², manufactures commercial vehicle bodies and all constructions made from metal raw materials with precise and error-free production using CNC-controlled machines.
The work at the production centers is carried out on an R&D axis. In this context, there are 10 R&D projects completed between 2012-2017, 6 ongoing projects, and 6 projects under evaluation. The total budget is approximately 80 million TL.** These projects offer domestic solutions to Turkey's public transportation needs, help keep the country's resources within the national economy through import substitution products, and create a high value-added export item that reaches all corners of the world.
Bozankaya, which conducted the R&D and prototyping studies of the first Turkish metro vehicles, will carry out Turkey's first metro export in 2018.
Bozankaya has made significant contributions to the development of the rail systems sector in Turkey. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Anatolian Rail Transportation Systems Cluster (ARUS).
