Kaaf develops and manufactures subsystems used in railway vehicles and railway vehicle maintenance machinery. Having specialized entirely in the railway vehicle sector since its establishment, it has developed numerous high value-added products through R&D efforts and has commercialized all of these products. At Kaaf, every project serves as a stepping stone for the next, enabling continuous improvement and development. Through its high value-added products, both current and future, it sustainably continues its economic and technological growth. With its expert employees who have gained years of experience in railway vehicle design, manufacturing, and maintenance, it aims to be a leading and game-changing brand globally in its sector.
KAAF PRODUCT GROUPS
Kaaf's product range is divided into two categories: railway vehicle subsystems and maintenance machinery. These are:
- RAILWAY VEHICLE SUBSYSTEMS
- AXLE BOX
Axle boxes are the connecting elements between the rotating wheel set and the semi-static bogie chassis. All forces acting between these components are transmitted via springs, dampers, and guide elements. Axle boxes have always been a vital component in ensuring the reliability of rail vehicles. They have a significant impact on operational safety, reliability, and rail vehicle costs.
- SANDBLASTING SYSTEM
It is used to increase the friction force between the wheel and the rail by spraying sand with a special composition and particle size between the two surfaces. It is used to increase stopping distance and prevent skidding and sliding.
- LUBRICATION SYSTEM
To achieve the best balance between wear, lateral forces in curves, and fuel efficiency, it is necessary to control the friction forces on the track surfaces where the wheels contact. With on-vehicle lubrication systems, the studs are lubricated at the correct time, quantity, and method, achieving optimum driving performance.
- DRIVER'S FOOT PLATFORM
The Driver Foot Platform (DSAP) offers ergonomic seating for drivers, minimizing driving fatigue. By providing a stable position for the driver, the distance to critical control devices is reduced, thus minimizing reaction times in emergency situations. Its adjustable design allows for the creation of the most suitable driving position for each driver.
- BO'54 FLEXIBLE WHEEL
Flexible wheels are effectively used in railway vehicles to improve ride comfort and reduce maintenance costs. Flexible wheels consist of a wheel core, rubber strips that absorb shock and vibration, and a steel bandage.
- RAILWAY VEHICLE MAINTENANCE MACHINES
- MOBILE SAND FILLING VEHICLE
Mobile Sand Filling Vehicles are used to fill the sand tanks in railway vehicle sandblasting systems. When the vehicle arrives at the maintenance workshop, the sand level is checked and sand is added. Mobile Sand Filling Vehicles can be manufactured in 3 different types according to user requirements. These are;
With built-in compressor and lithium battery
With built-in compressor and mains power supply
With built-in lithium battery and pneumatic mains power supply
- MOTORIZED SAND FILLING VEHICLE
Motorized sand loading trucks are used to fill sand tanks in railway vehicle sandblasting systems. These trucks are manufactured with self-propelled, electrically powered vans of various sizes (diesel versions are also available upon request). This provides the most suitable solution for businesses needing to transport sand heavier than 500 kg. Versions with carrying capacities of 0.75 tons, 1 ton, 2 tons, and more are produced upon request.
- AUTONOMOUS MANEUVERING VEHICLE
They are used to move railway trains over short distances without needing to operate the vehicles. Because they can move on both roads and rails, they provide flexible and rapid movement, especially in areas such as workshops, depots, and maintenance stations. Battery-powered shunting vehicles offer significantly greater efficiency and flexibility compared to railway vehicles, resulting in dramatic improvements in fuel efficiency, maintenance times, occupational safety, and operational capabilities.
- FLEXIBLE WHEEL PRESS
Specially designed machines are used for the assembly and disassembly of pre-tensioned flexible wheels used in railway vehicles. KAAF wheel presses enable flawless assembly of the Bo’54 wheel by applying the necessary pre-tensioning force with precise position, force, and speed. The machines can be customized according to customer requirements and for different wheel types.
- BOJI PRESS
Bogie presses are vital testing and maintenance machines that enable the balancing of bogies – which have a huge impact on the safety, comfort, maintenance costs, and other parameters of rail system vehicles – before their installation under the vehicle, either after manufacturing or maintenance.
- LINE LUBRICATION SYSTEM
To achieve the best balance between wear, lateral forces in curves, and fuel efficiency, it is necessary to control the friction forces on the rail surfaces where the wheels contact. With track lubrication systems, the studs are lubricated at the correct time, quantity, and method, achieving optimum driving performance.
- TROLLEY
Trolley/Aliber rail systems offer portable and quick solutions for wheels/axles that become immobile/locked on the rails of railway vehicles. They are used to transfer a malfunctioning railway vehicle to a maintenance workshop without damaging the rails or the vehicle itself.
- FAKE BOJI
In vehicle manufacturing plants, when there is a time difference between bogie production and body production, lifting lifts are used as a substitute for the main bogie to allow body production to continue, or when operating companies take rail system vehicles to maintenance workshops for heavy maintenance, to prevent the vehicle body from blocking the maintenance halls.
