SDT Space and Defense Technologies Inc. has established a well-known position in the market since its founding in 2005, both as a main contractor and a subcontractor, through the projects it has undertaken. It operates as a defense industry company developing domestic products and capabilities in R&D-based fields within the METU Technopark campus. With its 230 qualified personnel, it continues its work in the following areas:

• Mission Systems (Platform Management Systems, Data Recording Systems, Weapon Systems)

• Simulation Systems and Information Technologies (Air Combat Training Systems, Land Combat Training Systems, Naval Combat Training Systems, Satellite and UAV Systems, Image Processing and Data Technologies)

• Radar, Electronic Warfare and Communication Systems (Radar Systems, EW Systems, Communication Systems)

• Production Programs (RF Jammer Systems and Munition Guidance Electronics)

In addition to the stated areas of activity, Design and Production Infrastructure is also available. This Design and Production Infrastructure includes: Software Development Tools**, Electronic Design Tools**, Mechanical Design Tools**, R&D Laboratories**, Electronic Manufacturing, Electromechanical Assembly and Cabling**, Engineering Support Functions**, Environmental Conditions Test Laboratory**, and EMI/EMC Test Laboratory.

As of today, with approximately 4500 m² of facility infrastructure and its AS9100 (Rev.D) aviation quality certification system, SDT carries out design and manufacturing activities for the defense industry. SDT's operations and products meet internationally recognized engineering, quality management, configuration management, and program management standards, including IEEE 12207, IEEE 1220, MIL-STD-498, and MIL-STD-973.

Information Regarding Projects Implemented for Rail Transportation Systems

SDT aims to serve the Rail Systems Sector by combining its capabilities in Electronic Design, Mechanical Design, Software Development, Electronic Manufacturing, and Environmental Conditions Testing acquired in the Defense Industry with Project Management, Quality Management, and Configuration Management methods.

A collaboration is underway with TCDD Transportation Inc. General Directorate to localize the production of locomotive data loggers, which were previously procured from abroad and are also used in forensic cases.

Thanks to the localization efforts undertaken;

• Very high-quality video,

• Uninterrupted recording instead of the problem of not being able to record video before the accident,

• Very high storage capacity,

Modern capabilities such as these will be possessed.

Within the scope of the National Train Project, "Alarm, Passenger Information and Camera Systems" were developed for 1 set (5 vehicles) and delivered to TURASAŞ Adapazarı Wagon Factory in May 2020. As part of the project, the PA/PAS system was localized and a Domestic Product Certificate was obtained.

Within this scope, TURASAŞ has manufactured and delivered "Alarm, Passenger Information and Camera Systems" to the Adapazarı Wagon Factory.

In addition, agreements are in place with TCDD Transportation Inc. General Directorate and Eurotem companies to develop Data Recording Systems for Locomotives. The first deliveries are planned for the first half of 2021.
