Turkish Rail Systems Vehicles Industry Inc. (TÜRASAŞ) began its operations in 1894 in Eskişehir with a workshop established under the name 'Anadolu-Osmanlı Kumpanyası'. The company's area of influence was expanded with the establishment of the 'Cer Atölyesi' (Rolling Workshop) in Sivas on October 22, 1939, to enable the repair and maintenance of rail system vehicles used in the eastern part of the country. The Adapazarı Workshop, another branch of the company, was opened on October 25, 1951. With its technical infrastructure, knowledge, and business experience, TÜRASAŞ produces spare parts for all types of locomotives, passenger wagons, freight wagons, and rail system vehicles, as well as carrying out repair, maintenance, and overhaul of railway vehicles. Headquartered in Ankara, TÜRASAŞ operates through three regional directorates in Sivas, Eskişehir, and Adapazarı. Organized according to different areas of specialization, the Eskişehir regional directorate focuses on new generation electric, diesel, and hybrid locomotives; Passenger wagons of all types are manufactured in Adapazarı; freight wagons are manufactured in Sivas.
