Cooperation Platform Strengthening Türkiye's Rail Systems Ecosystem

The Anatolian Rail Transportation Systems Cluster (ARUS) is a sectoral cooperation platform that brings together manufacturers, suppliers, universities, and public institutions operating in the field of rail transportation systems in Türkiye, with common goals. ARUS works to increase the rate of domestic production in railways, metros, trams, light rail systems, and related subsystems, to improve technological capabilities, and to enhance international competitiveness.

Our aim is to strengthen Türkiye's expertise and production capacity in the field of rail systems, enabling our members to play a more effective role in global markets and contributing to the development of sustainable transportation technologies.

COSME EXTRA PROJECT

In June 2019, ARUS, along with a consortium of 7 ERCI member clusters, applied to the Cosme Cluster Excellence Programme, funded by the European Union. Out of hundreds of applications worldwide, ARUS and ERCI's joint Cosme Cluster Excellence project application was accepted from a total of 10 approved project calls. ARUS thus became one of the special clusters to achieve this success. COSME STARS PROJECT

In this pilot project, an innovative methodology will be developed and tested to increase the adoption of Advanced Technologies (AI, Blockchain, Photonics, IoT, Advanced Materials, etc.) by Railway Supply Industry SMEs. The project also has the support of 30 European institutions, including JU Shift2Rail, research centers specializing in railways and mobility, various EIT-European Innovation Communities, numerous Digital Innovation Centers, and the EEN-Enterprise Europe Network.
